What Do Facials Really Do?

Let us understand some more about facials.

What Do Facials Really Do?
Simply put, facials make you feel good about yourself. They claim to rejuvenate your skin by getting rid of dead skin cells and deep clean pores, improve the texture and appearance of your skin, moisturise your complexion, and tighten your pores thus making skin appear firm, bright and young. Facials can be of many types; those that use natural products, creams made of natural products or chemical ones like microdermabrasion and glycolic peels.

Some Precautions You Must Take When it comes to Facials

  • Always ask for a test patch before you go in for any treatment. This way, the treatment is tested on your hand or the side of your face and you can tell at once whether it will suit your face or not. This is particularly important for those who have sensitive skin as otherwise it can cause the skin to flare up instantly.
  • If you’re looking for some pampering, go in for a simple facial where they will clean, steam and massage your skin. This might be refreshing but make sure you get it done at a trusted salon or spa.
  • Let your therapist know if you suffer from any allergies or are taking a specific kind of medication. You may think nothing of it, but the products used in the facial may cause adverse reactions on your skin.
  • Pregnant women should inform the therapist immediately as certain products used in facials are not suitable for them.

Dos and don'ts of an updo

Updos are the best way to not only hide a bad hair day, but also glam up a dress, especially if it’s a wedding you're attending. Here are some tips and tricks to getting your bun, bouffant or French knot just right.

1. Don't shy away from volume in the front; it will help balance out the bun in the back. Add drama with hair accessories.

2. Use a texturizer like Toni & Guy Sea Salt Texturizing Spray at the roots to add bounce and softness to your locks and makes sure they don't look flat, limp and oily.

3. Use hot rollers to give your hair volume, but don't forget to coat your locks with Toni & Guy Heat Protection Mist first.

4. Plaits, knots and curls add texture to buns and make them interesting, so don't be afraid to add your own twists to a simple updo.

5. If you must use extensions, don't go too long, or choose a colour that will stand out against the rest of your hair.

6. Choose an updo style that flatters your face (for example, volume at the crown offsets a round face), not just something that's on trend.

7. Don't use too much hairspray, because it will make your hair hard.

8. Do remember to set the style with finishing spray, like Toni &Guy Moisturising Shine Spray.

9. If you're adding highlights to your hair, make sure they are also applied to the underside of your locks, which will be visible by an updo.
